We were very lucky to have engaged May Chang. We know she was the right ID because of her company's well-defined process and thoughtful advices. Clear defined phases and processes Phase 1) 2 rounds of meeting with May Chang for initial discussions followed by finalizing our design. Phase 2) 1 coordinated On-Site visit at our BTO to discuss Vinyl Flooring, Electrical and Aircon Trunking works with multiple contractors. Amidst all those, the lead carpenter was with us measuring specifics (with accordance to our finalize design). Phase 3) 1 visit to Metersquare for confirmation of every detail per room (Down to the level of measurements and color selection). A client signature is mandatory for every "Detail" page to lock down our decisions before any work begins. Most importantly, any additional cost that was discussed during On-Site visit is laid out clearly on the documents and ready for client to review, discussed and sign upon agreement. No surprises with unknown cost happening under the hood as everything has been clearly defined, discussed and agreed upfront. Phase 4) Begin construction Cost The cost of electrical work was what busted our budget big-time. We've heard from others to be careful with electrical work as the cost can quickly reach thousands. However, the amount was still way beyond our expectations. May Chang had to subsequently run through with us and cut down on none essentials; so as to reduce costs to affordable range. (NOTE:*Electrical and Aircon Costs are not included in your budget. Minus off 6-8k and that will be your budget for quotation.) Good Artist Collaboration My wife and I are artists and we can understand how difficult it is to work with us. We are very particular with details (e.g. Down to the Hue, Tone, Saturation of each color we picked and how harmonize they are from one room to the next) but it was a joy working with May Chang. Artists to artists, we collaborated by brainstorming ideas and rejecting bad ones. This mutual understanding and effort helps make our house practical, thematically cohesive and beautiful to live in. Construction Phase As many imagine, the construction phase can be a huge headache if it was self-coordinated. With an ID who knows her priorities; is always a blessing. Our families and friends were surprised how quick the renovation was completed under 3 weeks. Friendly workers that I've happened to meet while on-site were diligent, respectful and responsive to my requests. I have to give special credit to Ah-A (Lead Carpenter) for always responding to my feedback and requests. While I was NOT on-site, May Chang will proactively send us updates through our Whatsapp group. This was much appreciated and we've heard not many other IDs do this actively. For that, she has gain our trust and we feel very confident each step of the way. Taking in Feedback When we found anything that we were not satisfied, May Chang and her team responded timely and efficiently. We understand it’s not 100% perfect on the first run and her team is quick to rectify defects or problems that we've found. Post Construction after full payment May Chang and her team ensures continuous support to maintain her company's good services. Throughout the collaboration, our relationship turn from ID/client to more like friends. General With the above list, you can get a good feel that May Chang is a responsible person. There was a philosophy that she said which makes perfect sense: "I want to do it RIGHT, right from the start, any subsequent trips to rectify problems will only mean additional cost to my company. Thus, I will not provide you sub-standard quality with accordance to the budget you have set"

Under the recommendation of an old friend, I had engaged Mint of MeterSquare as my ID to do up the renovation of my new unit early this year. I wish to commend Mint for her dedication to her work and her attention to details throughout the entire project. From the start to the end, Mint had consistently provided me with good advice on important issues such as the choice of material and ayout planning etc. She had also provided me with 3D drawings to help me better visualise the end result which helped a lot in achieving the design i wanted. She had paid multiple visits to the site in order to better understand the nuances and discuss the project in greater details with me. Unlike other IDs who will recommend one to do more so that they can charge more, Mint had advised me to do away with some works which are not really necessary and helped me to save some costs. This is greatly appreciated. Though there were some issues during the project, they were minor and Mint had been really responsive to help and fix them timely and nicely. She had also been providing me regular updates on the progress of the project and did not fail to discuss with me any issue we encountered. I will also wish to praise the workers who were very nice and helpful to accommodate my requests. I have now stayed in my unit for a couple of months and am very pleased with the end product. The workmanship is great and Mint was able to deliver what she has promised. The after sale service is great too. After moving in, I have asked Mint to assist in some minor touch ups and Mint had very patiently answered my calls to follow up and fulfilled my requests. To those that we looking for an ID to design and do up your new place, I will strongly recommend MeterSquare and Mint for your consideration.

Home renovation is often a big decision for homeowners. After looking at various home design through web and magazines, we did have a rough idea on the look and feel that we wanted to achieve. From the get-go, Daphne has a nice persona that many would find comfortable to partner with. She listens and provides recommendations from our initial draft instead of hard selling her ideas. She puts it in easy-to-understand logic and lists the pros/cons of each design for us to make an informed decision. Daphne managed the whole renovation process very well. Working with the contractor, electrician and windows folks went smoothly. On the ground, recommendations and revisions are communicated promptly. Each was accommodating and respectful of timeline at every phase. The existing property in the house was well protected with cardboard boxes and plastic linings. The entire renovation was completed before the estimated due date. It was a surprising and delightful moment for us. Our home now is like a dream come true. Family and friends who visit always go “Wow” the moment they step through the door. It has transformed from a basic to a fully functional home with bits of surprises at every corner. We had selected Meter Square after spending over a year sourcing through various ID companies as well as speaking directly to contractors. Meter Square was the last ID company that we met up with and we were comfortable enough after speaking to May and Mint on the very first meeting, that we signed up with them immediately after. The renovation progressed very well, and as new ideas and opportunities presented themselves, we were so comfortable with the work done by the team that we were more than willing to bring forward additional scope of work that was originally meant to be done at a later phase. Meter Square took on this challenge without complaint and seamlessly incorporated the additions into their schedule without any hesitation. Throughout our interactions with Meter Square, we had been consistently impressed with May’s design experience and in particular her discipline and meticulous documentation approach. She believes that good and proper documentation serves as an important communication tool so that there are no misunderstandings between all parties. Given the scope of our renovation, we believe this to be one of the critical success factors. We were also very happy with Mint’s follow through of the actual renovation works and her interactions with her team and sub-contractors. She kept the project on schedule and ensured that all works were delivered according to plan. She was highly responsive and even made several excellent design suggestions that we were most happy to incorporate. Special mention should also go to Ah A, the carpentry lead, who is a joy to work with - always smiling and truly dedicated in his work. He has brought forth many invaluable ideas and we are really appreciative of the work done by him and his team. In all, our renovation project was completed within three months, hassle free and to our satisfaction. We were really glad we had chosen Meter Square - they maintained their willingness to listen throughout the entire project, and proved themselves to be reliable and dependable. They showed flexibility when the need arose, and in our opinion, they delivered very well on a project that was not run of the mill. Post renovation, they continued to impress us with their timely follow up of some alterations and additions to the design without hesitation. We would definitely return to them for our future projects and we would confidently recommend them to anyone.

May from Meter Square. We had done our research way before meeting up with M.S. We choose May and M.S. firstly because we liked the consistent stylish designs they produced. The testimonials we had read up about them also provided reassurance about their reputation and accountability. After meeting up, we felt comfortable enough to go ahead and signed up right away. Communication was clear. No hard sales pitches. She showed her well honed design experience effortlessly through our casual discussion with live layout sketching and actual carpentry display from her office. She was also able to show us relevant, up to date examples of bifold doors, laminates, window grill examples from her phone from her other projects during the discussion. You pick up her traits as u go along the meetings. Good memory. Serious about her projects. Sharp and detailed. And yes, we will definitely recommend May. After our home was completed, my 2nd sister in law and a close friend have chosen to have their renovation with M.S. as well.
